My half sister found these items in an old matchbox in her mother's belongings after she passed away.  She showed them to an historian in one of those "roadshows".  They told her they were some kind of "death medals".  They are made of brass, I believe.  There is a red scroll tied to the metal with a string.  There appears to a tiny piece of metal sewn into the end of the scroll.  Can anyone identify what these are?  Or does anyone have any information on how we could look up what they are?
