Hi, I have recently purchased a confederate belt buckle at a local auction in my home town. I am very curious about the buckle. When it was being sold the auctioneer advertised it as some kind of crate seal but on closer examination(after I bought it very resonable) It is a buckle. In large letters it says C.S.A. this is very visable but what wasn't seen at the auction is what raises my curiousity. In much smaller less destinctive print above the CSA it reads "Libby prison". below the CSA it reads"Richmond Virginia Guard company A". The buckle looks very real weather it is or not I'm not sure but I am very interested in the item as I have never seen a specific buckle of this nature. There are no hooks on the back and there are 2 tiny holes one on each side. The buckle is square in shape. can anyone tell me anything about this??
